We are proud to announce that the Diabetes Education Project in Harrow CCG, which commissioned SD to provide a range of workshops and activities for both staff and people with diabetes, has been recognised with an award from Health Education England, North West London!
The award category is 'best example of interprofessional learning' and SD Director Rosie Walker was present to accept the award along with the Harrow CCG Education Forum Chair, Dr Imtiaz Gulamali. They are both pictured with the award presenter, Ms Syena Skinner (right).
Rosie said 'I'm so proud that SD was commissioned to provide the activities and workshops for this project, which promoted self care and self management and also involved people living with diabetes talking to health professionals about the realities of living with this complex and everlasting condition. This has been of particular use in the learning and insights achieved throughout the project.
We hope this award will help to inspire even more practical and useful developments in diabetes services and care in the locality and it has been a pleasure to work with everyone involved at the CCG. True teamwork in action!'
