Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions relate to all products which can be purchased from Successful Diabetes following submission of an enquiry. All transactions must be carried out in pounds sterling. Please also note the terms of use of the Successful Diabetes website.

Books and Success Vouchers

The costs of all books are stated next to their description in the Successful Diabetes shop. Costs of delivery are included in the price of each product and will not incur an additional charge.

Ebooks are sent electronically to any email address.

Traditional books and Success Vouchers can only be bought in the UK via our shop. If you wish to purchase a traditional book and you are outside the UK, please contact us to arrange this.

Books will be despatched within 10 working days following purchase. If a signed copy of a book is ordered, please allow an additional 5 days for despatch.

Success Vouchers will be sent by email.

Purchases other than books and Success Vouchers

This section relates to all of the following products, which shall be termed 'services' for the purpose of these terms and conditions:

Workshops

External facilitation

Presentations

Keynote addresses

Chairing

The term 'organiser' shall refer to the purchaser of the service for the purposes of these terms and conditions.

Services can be purchased by submitting an initial enquiry through the contact us section of this website. An email will then be sent in reply, and discussions will take place by email or telephone to determine the exact nature of the product requested, dates, venues and other organisational aspects. Once an outline agreement regarding the product and dates has been reached, a booking form will be sent by email and will need to be completed to confirm the booking. Payment will be by VAT invoice on completion of the service, or can be invoiced in advance if this is more convenient for the organiser.

Please note that a completed booking form represents an agreement on the part of the organiser to purchase the service at the specified price. From the time of receipt of the booking form by Successful Diabetes, cancellation and postponement charges will apply.

For all services, Successful Diabetes undertakes to:

- Agree the service to be provided with the organiser, including any specific tailoring of an existing product, to meet the learning outcomes agreed with the organiser

- Deliver the service that has been booked to meet the outcomes agreed with the organiser

- Provide all relevant resources and materials except where agreed otherwise

- Provide a write-up of the workshop content if required and if agreed in advance of the workshop being held

The organiser undertakes to:

- Select the service they require and identify the outcomes they wish the service to achieve

- Liaise with Successful Diabetes to agree mutually acceptable dates and timings of the service

- Arrange the venue, venue equipment and refreshments for participants

- Contact participants and provide them with all necessary information about the event

- Ensure payment is made promptly on receipt of an invoice, as outlined in the costs of services section of these terms and conditions

Costs of services

The costs of services are as follows:

Workshops and external facilitation

Day (or part day) for up to 20 people £850

Other workshops costed on request.

Presentations and keynote addresses £850

Chairing - one day £850

Chairing - over one day  Costed on request

We also have some specific programmes on this website which are costed as a complete package. The costs of these specific programmes is provided with the main programme information.

Please read the following notes carefully as they apply to all services provided by Successful Diabetes.

The costs of services are for the provision of a facilitator or facilitators only.

Travel costs for the facilitator (which may include train fares, mileage costs at inland revenue rates, and parking charges) will be added to the costs of services. In cases where overnight accommdation is required for the facilitator, this will be added to the cost of the service unless booked and paid for by the organiser.

VAT will be added to the total of all the above. An invoice will be sent within seven days of the service being provided and should be paid within 30 days from the date of the invoice.

Successful Diabetes reserves the right to charge interest at the rate of 5% per month on all accounts not settled within 30 days.

If the organiser wishes to arrange payment in advance, this can be arranged on request.

The cost of venue and equipment hire, and refreshments, will be met by the organiser.

Cancellation and postponement charges

Cancellation by the organiser more than 4 weeks in advance - no charge

Cancellation by the organiser 2-4 weeks prior to the event - 25% of the service costs plus VAT

Cancellation by the organiser within 2 weeks of the event - 50% of the service costs plus VAT

Cancellation charges will include any travel and accommodation costs already paid where a refund of those costs cannot be obtained by other means

Cancellation by Successful Diabetes - any monies already paid will be refunded unless the organiser wishes to use them to cover a future event

If the organiser wishes to postpone an event, the cancellation charges above will apply, but if the event is rescheduled within three months of the original event, cancellation charges will then be deducted from the amount payable following the event.
